Nawaz Sharif disqualifed against corruption charges

Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has been disqualified by the Pakistan Supreme Court over his pending corruption allegations, in the Panama Papers case.

The court asked the bureau of corruption to investigate further into the allegations against him. The leaked data revelation linked Nawaz Sharif and his family to offshore businesses, laundering of money to buy properties in London, back in the 1990’s.The family could not give any legit explanation of the vast property.

Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan said that within 6 weeks all the materials gathered by Joint Investigation Team would be sent to accountability court. Cases will be opened against Maryam, Captain Muhammad Safdar, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz.

Earlier in April, The Supreme Court had declared “insufficient evidence” to remove Sharif from these allegations.

Nawaz Shariff seems to have had a hard time in keeping his post in the past and in present. In 1993, he was removed by graft allegations from his post during the first term as Prime Minister. In 1999, in the second term, he was toppled by the military coup led by General Pervez Musharraf.

Other than Sharif there were others too. Donald Trump, Emma Watson, Heather Mills, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Jackie Chan, etc were wrapped in this controversy.

The famous controversy of Panama Papers was documents being leaked by an unknown source, which provided detailed financial and attorney client information. Panama Paper controversy involved many politicians across the world and famous celebrities who have been accused of having illegal assets, to evade the taxes and international sanctions.

Sharif and his allies kept on calling the reports to be trash and rejected all claims in this matter. But, he is no more eligible to hold any post for the next 5 years due to
