On Thursday the government extended the due date for linking Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar to “December 31”. That means people still have four more months for linking their Aadhar-PAN. The last date for connecting PAN to Aadhaar was August 31. The administration had made required the connecting of the two databases for documenting IDs of the whole population.

Prior, the Center had on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that will stretch out the due date to outfit Aadhaar card details to avail advantages of different social welfare plans till December 31.

Section 139 AA (2) of the Income Tax Act says that each individual having PAN as on July 1, 2017, and is qualified to acquire Aadhaar, must private his Aadhaar number to the tax authorities.
