India stands with #NotInMyName as India can never be divided in the name of caste, creed, and gender. India is culturally and historically secular, democratic and more inclusive.
Different sections of society may have different, culture, lifestyle, and staple still they live together as an indistinguishable element of the India. This smooth balance in society has been hampered by current and frequent cases of beef lynching, hate crimes, identity politics and invasion in the privacy of the public.
These cases have culminated in a campaign like #NotInMyName to raise voices against beef lynching, hate crimes, identity politics and invasion in the privacy of the general public.
Origin of #NotInMyName campaign
Origin of #NotInMyName campaign is vibrant utility and reach of social media. It was a reaction against the very disheartening killing of an Indian Muslim youth whose name is Late Mr. Junaid Khan.
This reaction was first expressed by a lady named as Saba Dewan who had called for a protest against the murder of Late Mr. Junaid Khan with united public force.
The very campaign has expressed the not only importance of public force but also that of vibrant social media.

Who has supported the movement?
The general public, eminent personalities like Mr. Ravish Kumar, Mr. Ramchandra Guha and political parties like Aam Aadmi Party, Swaraj Abhiyan, the Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Congress and Janata Dal (United) and much more known and unknown forces supported the very cause/movement.
#NotInMyName and Indian Constitution
#NotInMyName campaign supports the very two articles of Indian Constitution, these are as follows –
- Article 14 – This very article provides any resident of India equality before the law.It states that state(India) shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territory of India. It also Prohibits discrimination to all residents based on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.
- Article 21 – This very article provides any resident of India protection of their life and the personal liberty. It further states that no person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law.
