The Lankan held their head down after the breathtaking efforts of the Indian Batsmen, thanks to Shikhar Dhawan’s 190 and the dependable Pujara’s 154. The other men in the BLEED BLUE side were the dependable Rahane and the debutant hard hitter Hardik Pandya . Even though Mohammed Shami gave glimpses of his batting skills with his quick fire knock low down the order.
There were some positive signs for Sri Lanka too. Nuwan Pardeep which came into limelight due in the recent Champions Trophy 2017 due to the steady line and length. He was the pick of the bowlers in the recent test as he scalped 6 wickets and most importantly the price wicket of Virat Kolhi. Pardeep told in the post match presentation that the plan worked against Kolhi which was a price wicket for team.
After the end of Day2 the Sri Lankan had 4 wickets fallen apart. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 2 wickets. However Upul Tharanga who continued his dream touch was unfortunately dismissed for 64 by Abhinav Mukund in a confusion with Angelo Mathews.
At the end of Day2 Cheteshwar Pujara said at the post day presentation that “I TRAIN MY BRAIN TO CONCENTRATE FOR LONG INNINGS”
Sri Lanka had their hopes alive till the time they had Angelo Mathews on their side as he was the lone warrior in the battle of many. After the fall of Mathews, thanks to the very own SIR JADEJA, Sri Lanka almost lost their hopes but to save the pride of the lions in their own jungle stood the all rounder Dilruvan Perera with him knock of 92 from 132 balls scoring 10 fours down the line and 4 mighty towering sixes. But soon after the fall of Perera, the wickets started to crumble and the Lankan Lions were bundled out of 291 falling 310 runs short of India’s total.
The Indain innings started with the loss of the first innings star Shkhar Dhawan who fell cheaply for 14 runs to Diluvaran Perera . After that the Indian team also faced a dismissal of Cheteshwar Pujara to Lahiru Kumara. The Indian innings was steadied by the CAPTAIN AGGRESSIVE (Virat Kolhi) and the Abhinav Mukund. However , Abhinav Mukund had an unlucky dismissal as he stood in front of the wicket and was given LBW by the umpire.
