The Pro kabaddi 2017 inaugurated its 5th season in a grand style on 28 July and the final of this tournament is dated to be played on 28th October. The auction was held in New Delhi in which over 400 players took part and were divided into the different pools. But there was a change in the Pro kabaddi the number of teams were increased by 4. The new teams that entered The Pro kabaddi 2017 were Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu. The Franchises spend around 47 crores and Nitish Tomar was gem of a player as he proved to be the costliest player in the history of PKL. His services were acquired by Uttar Pardesh for this year. Rohit Kumar (81 lakhs), Manjit Chillar(75 lakhs), Surjeet Singh(73 lakhs), Selvamani K(73 lakhs).  However the KOREAN STAR Jang Kun Lee was the most expensive overseas player as he was retained by Bengal Warriors for 80 lakhs.

1st Day Match Stats

Puneri Paltans VS U Mumba

Puneri Paltans made a setback on the inaugural day of PKL season 5 as they thrashed the CAPTAIN COOLS’S Anup Kumar team. In the starting of the match Anup Kumar team was considered as the overall favourites as they had a STAR STUDDED line up with stars like the all rounder Anup Kumar and the attacking raider Kashiling Adake. However, In the Maharashtrian derby Puneri Paltan outplayed the U Mumba. Deepak Niwas Hooda was the stand out performer with the raids as well as his ability to  defence.

Telegu Titans VS Tamil Thalaivas

This was an epic encounter as it was the battle of the champion Raiders. However in the Hyderabad Stadium the Rahul Chaudary’s led side (Telegu Titans) defeated the Ajay Thakur’s(Tamil Thalaivas). Whereas  Vishal Bhardwaj and Nilesh Salunke played supportive roles.

The first day of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 was a nail biting thriller.
